The autumn wind was cool, and the trees were already full of fruits. We have welcomed the closing of 2024 China International Paper Technology Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as “2024 CIPTE”). 2024 CIPTE is jointly organized by China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute, China Technical Association of Paper Industry, and China Paper Association, and co-organized by China Pulp and Paper Magazines Publisher in Wuhan on September 27. PART 01

The Gathering of Talents:

Celebrating the beginning of this great event and discussing new quality science and technology

2024 CIPTE has, as always, received strong support and extensive attention from colleagues in paper industry.

Leaders who attended this event: Dr. Cao Zhenlei, former president of China Technical Association of Paper Industry and director of the senior expert advisory committee of China Technical Association of Paper Industry; Sun Bo, deputy general manager of Sinolight Corporation, and president of China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute; Cao Chunyu, president of China Technical Association of Paper Industry; Qian Yi, deputy president and secretary-general of China Paper Association; leaders from Department of Economy and Information Technology of Hubel Province; and leaders from paper industry organizations in various provinces and cities.

PART 02

2024 China International Paper Technology Exhibition:

Gathering more than 300 exhibitors to draw a new chapter of green development and intelligent manufacturing

Since its first opening in 1987, China International Paper Technology Exhibition has a history of 37 years and has been successfully held for 31 sessions. Innovating within inheritance, this session of CIPTE established a platform of exhibition, business communication, negotiation and cooperation around the upstream and downstream of the paper and related industries, attracting domestic and foreign professional visitors, and handed over an excellent results. 2024 CIPTE emphasized the role of new quality productivity forces in promoting collaborative innovation of paper industrial chain. We injected new vitality into the sustainable development of the paper industry by integrating the scientific and technological innovation resources, leading the development of strategic emerging industries, accelerating the formation of new quality productivity forces, and providing valuable references for the green transformation of the industry.

The overall exhibition area of this year was nearly 20000m², and the number of exhibitors were more than 300. We also welcomed more than 20,000 domestic and visitors to come to visit, and there were professional buyer teams from Canada, Russia, Vietnam and other countries and regions.

Exhibitors converged at Wuhan and displayed new equipment, products, and technologies in fields of energy saving, carbon reducing, intelligent manufacturing. They brought innovative solutions and strong technical support for paper industry, which reflected innovation results of green transformation in paper industry.

During 2024 CIPTE, many exhibitors such as Huazhang Technology and Shenzhen Shuangyuan Technology Co., Ltd., signed domestic and abroad orders or cooperation agreements on the spot.

PART 03

Influential conference:

Focusing on the cutting-edge hot spots and having an insight of the future of new quality productivity forces

Following national Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Strategy, the 2024 China International Paper Technology Exhibition focused on cutting-edge and hot topics such as green and intelligent manufacturing and biomass new materials, and holds two high-level forums and conferences: 2024 China International Paper Innovation and Development Forum and 2024 International Paper Technical Conference.

Leaders from relevant departments, well-known experts at home and abroad, representatives of entrepreneurs and colleagues in paper industry discussed and exchanged on topical issues in the industry such as new quality productivity forces, effective transformation of innovation results, raw material supply and market analysis, green and intelligent manufacturing, energy saving and emission reduction, quality and efficiency improvement, studies of sustainable bio-based materials, and application of nanocellulosic innovation results through 26 high-level reports. Together with the professors, entrepreneurs and guests, we collided ideas with each other, inspired thinking and opened up new points to discuss the cultivation of new quality productivity forces in paper industry, the transformation of intelligent manufacturing and the new path toward green and low-carbon development.

PART 04

Integration of Industry-University-Research:

Deepening cooperative mechanism and driving innovative development

On September 25, 2024 Paper Industry Green Transition and Integrated Development Conference and Green Energy-saving Environmental Protection Equipment and Technology Exchange Activity were held. Tian Chao, General Manager of China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute Co., Ltd., said in his speech that this exchange activity focused on the green transition and integrated development in paper industry, emphasized green, low-carbon and circular transformation path. Hoping to promote innovation and upgrading and build an open and cooperative ecology in paper industry by technical exchanges and application examples sharing.

The conference linked upstream and downstream enterprises, expert and think tanks in paper industry, reports and exchanges on the high-quality development of academic journals, the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality path and service of paper making, and the cooperation and co-construction of Industry-University-Research virtual teaching and research office, and discussed the road toward green high-quality development from the aspects of scientific and technological innovation, green and low-carbon, and the integration of Industry-University-Research. Subsequently, Tian Chao, Standing Vice Manager of China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Professor Zhang Meiyun of Shaanxi University of Science and Technology, head of the first virtual teaching and research office of light engineering major of the Ministry of Education, jointly signed the cooperation agreement of virtual teaching and research office. The strategic cooperation between the two sides will give full play to the resource advantages of the consortium of media and institutions of higher learning, achieve complementarity, and help deepen the reform of the talent training mode of the integration of Industry-University-Research.

Topic exchange:

Selecting energy-saving schemes and promoting green technology

The Green Energy-saving Environmental Protection Equipment and Technology Exchange Activity has been held during the 2024 Paper Industry Green Transition and Integrated Development Conference. Xu Chengsong, Deputy Director of Strategic Development Department of Zhejiang Lenor Flow Control Technology Co., Ltd., Yan Laipeng, Deputy Chief Engineer of Intelligent Manufacturing Department and Director of Design & Training Department of Huazhang Technology, Bi Jianting, Deputy Secretary-General of Aerogel Branch of China Insulation & Energy Efficiency Materials Association and Energy Conservation Expert of China Industrial Energy Conservation and Cleaner Production Association, respectively made reports entitled “Substitution Application Practice of Imported Control Valve Positioner”, “Main Transmission Application Scheme of HZ AC3755TR Platform”, and “Promoting Aerogel Insulation Energy Saving and Assist to Achieve the Goal of Carbon Neutrality in Paper Industry”. Their reports demonstrated and promoted the new products, new technologies, new achievements, advanced solutions and application scenarios in fields of pulp and paper clean production, green energy-saving and environmental protection, and intelligent application technology and equipment and new energy.

List of Outstanding Papermaking Enterprises and Entrepreneurs:

Carrying the past grand glory to inspire a new bright future

Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, especially since the reform and opening up, China’s paper industry has grown from small to large, from weak to strong, and achieved the remarkable achievement of ranking first in the world in paper production for many consecutive years, and striding forward to the paper power. In this process, a number of outstanding enterprises and entrepreneurs have emerged. They have not forgotten their original intentions for decades and have unswerved to devote themselves to the modernization of paper making in China.

In order to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, and to inherit and promote the patriotic spirit, national spirit, cultural spirit, innovative spirit, scientist spirit, and entrepreneurial spirit of paper makers, the welcome dinner of the 2024 China International Paper Technology Exhibition was held ceremoniously. Together with paper enterprises, equipment enterprises and entrepreneurs who have contributed to the development of the paper industry, we celebrated the development and growth of paper industry. We wish China prosperity and paper industry stability and prosperity!

Cao Chunyu, president of China Technical Association of Paper Industry, announced the official start of the List of Outstanding Papermaking Enterprises and Entrepreneurs. It will dig deep and vividly and show the excellent figures who have left a deep mark in the development of China’s papermaking. We hope that people from all walks of life will actively pay attention to and support the compilation work, and provide valuable information and suggestions.
