Meeting at Wuhan for CIPTE, Jointly Hard Working for a Green Future:

The 2024 China International Paper Technology Exhibition was Grandly Opened in Wuhan

On September 25, 2024, collaboratively organized by China Pulp and Paper Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as “CNPPRI”), China Technical Association of Paper Industry and China Paper Association, and co-organized by China Plup and Paper Magazines Publisher, the “2024 China International Paper Technology Exhibition” (hereinafter referred to as “CIPTE”) was grandly opened in Wuhan International Expo Center.

PART 1 Leaders’ Speech Raised the Curtain of CIPTE, Talents Communicated Jointly

Sun Bo, the Deputy General Manager of Sinolight Corporation and President of CNPPRI, Cao Chunyu, the President of China Technical Association of Paper Industry, and Qian Yi, the Vice President and Secretary-general of China Paper Association, kicked off 2024 CIPTE together and started to take new steps of the innovation and exchange in paper industry.

Sun Bo, President of CNPPRI, said in the opening speech we will further carry through the guiding principals of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and explore new growth opportunities on the path to high-quality development. 2024 CIPTE will warmly resonate with the government’s call for green transition by showcasing green energy-saving equipment, promoting environmental protection solutions, progressing advanced technology R&D, sharing carbon peaking and carbon neutrality and intelligent manufacturing cases, and collectively promoting the transformation, upgrading and the sustainable development of paper industry.

Qian Yi, Secretary-general of China Paper Association said in his speech that 2024 Papermaking Science and Technology Week is adhering to the mission and shouldering the responsibility of paper industry very well in the new era. 2024 Papermaking Science and Technology Week provides a professional platform for communication and exchange, and hopes every CIPTE participants are able to make new friends, explore new cooperation opportunities, and contribute to the development of paper industry.

PART 2 Leaders and Guests Touring in the Exhibition Hall, Establishing a Bridge of Communication and Exchange

Leaders and paper industry enterprises representatives visited the CIPTE exhibition hall. Leaders and representatives are from: China Technical Association of Paper Industry, China Paper Association, China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Shandong Sun Holdings Group Co., Ltd., Huatai Group, Nine Dragons Paper (Holdings) Limited, Shanying International Holdings Co., Ltd., Chenming Group, Guangzhou Paper Group Ltd., Fujian Hengan Group, Xianhe Co., Ltd., Yueyang Forest & Paper Co., Ltd., Jingxing Paper, Fujian Qingshan Paper Industry Co., Ltd., Hengfeng Paper, MCC Paper GalaxyCo., Ltd., YouFun Paper, Mesta Group, Stora Enso, UPM, Golden Phoenix Paper, etc.

Leaders and guests spoke highly of the industry influence, the international communication breadth and the scientific and technological innovation depth of 2024 CIPTE. Exhibitors also expressed that CIPTE has built a platform for exhibiting the latest paper products and technologies, which will effectively promote exchanges and cooperation in paper industry.

PART 3 Gathering Cutting-edge Exhibits, Progressing Industry Upgrading

The exhibition area of 2024 CIPTE is 20000 m2. Shown by more than 300 exhibitors, exhibits are from raw materials to products, accessories to equipment in pulp and paper industry. Enterprises representatives bring innovative solutions and strong technical support to paper industry and promote the green and low-carbon transformation of the industry by showcasing printing and packaging equipment, technology and products from pulp and paper to the whole industry chain. 2024 CIPTE attracted nearly 10,000 domestic and foreign visitors in just one day.

PART 4 Industry-University-Research Development Collaboratively, Driving Greenization Transition

The 2024 Paper Industry Green Transition and Integrated Development Conference and Green Energy-saving Environmental Protection Equipment and Technology Exchange Activity was held on the first afternoon of CIPTE. Tian Chao, General Manager of CNPPRI, said in his speech that this activity focus on the green transition and integrated development of paper industry; emphasize a green, low-carbon and recycling transition path; hope to promote innovation and upgrading and establish an open and cooperative industrial ecology through technical exchanges and application examples sharing in paper industry.

The activity linked upstream and downstream industry enterprises and experts. Reports and exchanges are carried out on topics of: high-quality development of academic journals; the Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality path in paper industry; paper industry services; the establishment of Industry-University-Research virtual classroom. Experts and scholars also discussed the path to green and high-quality development from the aspects of scientific and technological innovation, green and low-carbon, and the integration of production and education.

In addition, the Green Energy-saving Environmental Protection Equipment and Technology Exchange Activity was held on scene as well. Xu Chengsong, Deputy Director of Strategic Development Department of Zhejiang Lenor Flow Control Technology Co., Ltd.; Yan Laipeng, Deputy Chief Engineer of Intelligent Manufacturing Department and Director of Design & Training Department of Huazhang Technology; Bi Jianting, Deputy Secretary-General, Aerogel Branch of China Insulation & Energy Efficiency Materials Association and Expert in Energy Conservation of China Industrial Energy Conservation and Cleaner Production Association, respectively made reports entitled “Development and Industrialization of Intelligent Valve Positioner Based On Nozzle Flapper Slide Valve Technology”, “Latest HZ AC3755TR Rockwell Platform from Huazhang Technology and Main Transmission Application Scheme”, and “Promoting Aerogel Insulation Energy Saving and Assist to Achieve the Goal of Carbon Neutrality in Paper Industry”. They showed and promoted pulp and technology and equipment in paper clean, green energy-saving and environmental production, and Intelligence and applicability; and new products, technologies, achievements, cutting-edge solutions and application scenarios in the field of new energy.

PART 5 Brand Influential Forum and Conference, Driving us to a New Quality Productive Forces Future

China International Paper Innovation and Development Forum was conducted on September 24 in Wuhan International Expo Center smoothly. With the topic of “Creating New Quality Productive Forces by Innovation and Leading High-quality Development in A Green Way, this session of forum was deeply in line with the era theme of developing new industrialization, focusing on the grand blueprint of green low-carbon and digital intelligent transition of paper industry, discussing and exchanging much-talked-about topic such as innovation, green, intelligent manufacturing and market, and providing inspiration and practical guidance for paper industry. More than 300 leaders, domestic and international experts, scholars, and company representatives came to Wuhan International Expo Center and gave a warmly response.

The International Paper Technical Conference will be held on September 26, 2024 in S101 Chuxin Hall, Wuhan International Conference & Exhibition Center. Specialists and Experts from China, Finland, Japan, Canada and other foreign countries will exchange and communicate on hot and cutting-edge topics such as sustainable bio-based materials by Finnish scholar, paper industry and net zero CO2 emissions from Japanese expert, the technology development of fiber wikis for food packaging, the innovative application of nanocellulost and the achievements, and so on. They will discuss about the future of green development in paper industry and the innovation driving leading by the new quality productive forces.

PART 6 Inherit the Aspiration of Pioneering, Carry Forward the Glory of Paper Industry

Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, especially since the Reform and Opening Up, paper industry in our country since the infant period, from weak to strong, has achieved the continuous years of papermaking production ranks the world’s outstanding success, and strived toward a papermaking power. In this process, a number of eminent enterprises and entrepreneurs who have not forgotten their original intentions for decades emerged and devoted themselves unswervingly to the modernization of China’s paper industry. 

The welcome banquet of 2025 2024 Papermaking Science and Technology Week will be held for celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, and carrying forward the patriotic, national, cultural, innovative spirit and spirit of scientists and entrepreneurs by paper industry colleagues.
