Abstract:In this study, silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were synthesized via hydrothermal method, and the AgNPs/nanocellulose composite (Ag-CNF) was prepared with TEMPO oxidized nanocellulose (TOCNF) as only carrier and dispersant, AgNO3 solution as the silver source. The effects of TOCNF content and Ag+ concentration on Ag-CNF properties were investigated. The results showed that the AgNPs synthesized with 1% TOCNF and Ag+ concentration of 10 mmol/L were evenly dispersed with no significant aggregation of large particles, of which the average particle size was 22.3 nm. The diameter of inhibition zone were 2.70 mm and 3.50 mm for Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus), respectively, showing a good antibacterial performance. |
