Abstract:In this study, a method was developed for the determination of cations, such as Lithium, Sodium, Ammonia, Potassium, Magnesium and Calcium, in paper-making reconstituted tobacco sheet using quantitative loop on-line dilution-ion chromatography (IC), with external-standard quantitative method. When 0.1 g of sample was extracted with 50 mL of 0.01 mol/L hydrochloric acid for 30 min at room temperature with shaking, the LODs and the LOQs of target cations could achieve 0.011~0.031 μg/mL and 0.034~0.094 μg/mL, respectively, while the determination coefficients were more than 0.998. The Intra-assay repeatability and Inter-assay reproducibility were 2.14%~3.86% and 2.57%~4.52%, respectively, indicating the better repeatability and reproducibility. With three different cation concentrations, the recovery rates for the target cations were in the range of 95.8% and 107.3%, and the relative standard deviation (RSD) was in the range of 1.53~4.51. The results showed that this method was convenient and fast, suitable for large throughput detection, of which the accuracy of detection results was significantly better than that of manual dilution method, with the precision significantly improved. It was proved that the types and content of cations in the paper-making reconstituted tobacco sheet samples were different, and the content varied widely.
