Abstract:Biomass-based porous carbon materials have attracted extensive attention due to the advantages of wide range of raw materials, low cost, and environmental friendliness. The wide applications of biomass-based porous carbon materials in supercapacitors and other energy storage devices can greatly promote their high value-added applications in many fields. In this review,by deeply analyzing and studying recent preparation and application technologies of biomass carbon-based supercapacitors, the research and application progresses of biomass-based porous carbon materials for supercapacitor electrodes were summarized from the aspects of biomass raw materials, and the optimizations of biomass-based porous carbon materials (activation and element doping technologies), as well as the applications of biomass-based porous carbon materials as supercapacitor electrodes, etc.
