Abstract:A trim squirt movement control system was designed to solve the problem of precise movement of the trim squirt used for paper threading and full-width positioning in the paper machine forming section. Based on the variable speed double dead zone method, the trim squirt movement and positioning were controlled. By controlling the switch of trim squirt movement speed, the double control dead zone was set in cooperation with it. The speed of the trim squirt was decreased to reduce the inertial error caused by the movement of the trim squirt to achieve the purpose of accurately controlling the positioning of the trim squirt. The results showed that the trim squirt displacement curve changed smoothly via variable speed double dead zone control method, and the error with the trim squirt setting position was 0.8% when it was stopped, which was more accurate. Compared with variable speed single dead zone system, the trim squirt movement response time was shortened, which provided a valuable reference for controlling the precise movement of trim squirt on the paper machine.
