Abstract:The imbibition characteristics of ground calcium carbonate (GCC) pigment were investigated and characterized, and the internal relationship between the imbibition characteristics of GCC pigment and the classical imbibition models (Lucas-Washburn, Bosanquet and inertial models) were analyzed in this study. The fractal characteristics of the GCC pigment were solved through the fractal theory. The fractal imbibition model of GCC pigment was established from two aspects of imbibition dynamics and fractal structure. The imbibition amount correction factor and shape factor were introduced to further modified the fractal model. The modified imbibition fracture model completely matched the imbibition characteristics in the whole process of GCC pigments. Therefore, the established imbibition model provided tool supports to forecast the imbibition characteristics of GCC and to develop pigments with good imbibition characteristics. |
