Abstract:In view of the breakage of the bolts on the drive side of the vacuum press roll in the paper machine, fault diagnosis was carried out. Through the actual measurement of vacuum press roll and shafts, the analysis of the force between the stone roll, vacuum press roll, and lower press in the press section of the paper machine, and the calculation of the torque provided by the motor on the drive side and the shear strength of the bolt on the drive side of the vacuum press roll, the reasons for the breakage of the vacuum press roll bolts was investigated. The results showed that reasons were as follows: ① the vacuum press roll had a clearance fit with the shaft; ② the linear pressure on the vacuum press roll was too large; ③ the actual shear strength of the bolt was greater than the allowable shear stress of its corresponding material. It was also proposed that relevant preventive measures to prevent the vacuum press roll bolt from breaking in this paper. The maintenance and transformation of the vacuum press roll should be done during the maintenance period of the paper machine to provide the necessary guarantee for the safe operation of the paper machine in the future.
