Abstract:In this study, surface-modified aramid fiber with dopamine (PDA/AF) decorative base paper were prepared by wet molding process using softwood fiber as matrix, PDA/AF as the reinforcements. The effects of the addition of PDA/AF on the physical properties, friction and wear properties, and flame retardancy of the decorative base papers were studied, and the influence mechanism was discussed. The results showed that when addition of PDA/AF was 25%, the dry tensile index and wet tensile index of PDA/AF decorative base paper were 34.2 and 7.56 N·m/g, respectively, which increased by 22% and 80%, respectively, compared with softwood fiber decorative base paper. The wear rate and maximum heat release rate (PHRR) were 2.43×10-4 mm3/J and 125.21 W/g, which were 46.48% and 20.55% lower than those of softwood fiber decorative base paper, respectively. The smoke density of PDA/AF decorative base paper was significantly reduced as well. |
