Abstract:Dehydration is an essential process for sludge disposal in order to reuse paper sludge as resource. Thermal drying is one of the effective sludge reducing technologies. In this paper, the paper sludge drying theory was introduced based on the thin-layer drying mechanism. The recent studies on thin-layer drying characteristics and models of paper sludge were also reviewed. Various thin-layer drying models were presented briefly and compared under different drying conditions. It would be helpful for kinetic analysis, design and optimization of paper sludge drying process. |
