Abstract:The influence of the proportion of tobacco stem, tobacco scrap and fibre on physical properties of the paper-process reconstituted tobacco (PRT) such as tensile index and bursting index was investigated by using response surface experiment design method (RSM). The results indicated that there was significant correlation between the proportion of the materials and physical properties, which could be used to predicted the tensile index and bursting index of PRT. Confirmatory trials showed that the relative deviation was less than 7%, which suggested that there was good fit degree between the experimental results and the values predicted by the equation.
