Abstract:This paper mainly analyzed the pulp flow situation in low consistency disc refiners, by establishing three-dimensional model of disc refiner, assuming turbulent state of the newton fluid was uniform, and setting the boundary conditions fixed, k-epsilon flow model was used to simulate the pulp flow in refining zone .The results showed that the initial stage of grinding, the inlet pressure of the refining zone was the largest at the nomal grinding stage(when the machine was filled with pulp). The refining pressure reached the maximum at radial position approached to 1/3 of the inlet, the pulp velocity in the stationary disc was smaller, a part of the pulp even stopped moving forward, and the pulp flowed along with the groove. In fact ,the pressure of floating disc was higher than that of the stationary disc.
