Abstract:The important effect of refining intensity on the morphological change of fibers during pulp refining in disc refiner was described in this paper.According to the theory about refining and refining intensity in the foreign and domestic, the characterization parameters of refining intensity was introduced and summarized.The bar interleaving area and length used as the refining intensity parameters were derived taking the bar surface area as the working area of the refining zone, at the same time, the inseparable relationship linking the bar profile parameter to refining intensity was also described. Finally,the importance of the research on characterization parameters of the refining intensity was expounded and the future research directions were put forward.
