Abstract:Effect of magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles on micro-aerobic activated sludge domestication with pulping middle-stage effluent was studied. The magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles were prepared by co-precipitation method and characterized by SEM. The effect of Fe3O4 nanoparticles dosage on activated sludge domestication with pulping middle-stage effluent under micro-aerobic conditions was investigated through static experiments. The results showed that the treatment effect and the physical-chemical characters of the sludge with the addition of Fe3O4 nanoparticles were better than that of without adding Fe3O4 nanoparticles. CODCr removal efficiency reached about 80% for 55d domestication when Fe3O4 nanoparticle dosage was 1.0 g/L, while no higher than 70% achieved in the control sample. MLSS, settling and flocculating performances of the sludge were obviously superior to the control group.
