Abstract:In this work, the acid solution was used to purify the pulp after cooking. The problem of the pulp after acid treatment and the effect of adding magnesium salt on the properties of pulp and paper were studied. The results showed that when the amount of acid in the purification process was 1%, the conductivity of the water extraction liquid was high and the pH was low.The problem could not be solved by increasing washing times. The problem was improved by changing the washing way, but ash content of the pulp increased after replacing with tap water washing. Treating the pulp with magnesium salt after acid treatment could effectively solve this problem, and the conductivity of aqueous extract of the pulp was decreased, and the pH value increased with the increasing of magnesium salinity.Adding 2.5% magnesium salt to the pulp which was treated with 1% acid solution, the ionic and electrical properties of paper samples were tested. Test results showed that compared with untreated paper, the sodium content in the ash of the paper reduced, the breakdown strength increased and the dielectric loss reduced.
