Abstract:The chemical pulping and papermaking wastewater sludge hydrolyzed (CPPS) by laccase, cellulase and hemicellulose under appropriate conditions was used as the filler to prepare the composite with polyvinyl chloride (PVC), the effects of enzymatic modified sludge on the properties of the composites were studied. Enzymatic modified sludge was useful to improve tensile strength, elastic modulus of the sludge-PVC composite. With the filler content of 30%, the tensile strength of PVC composites filled with raw sludge and its modified products hydrolyzed by laccase and cellulase and hemicellulose could be increased by 22.4%, 63.2%, 61.8% and 43.6% respectively compared with that of PVC composite filled with calcium carbonate. With the filler content of 40%, the elastic modulus of PVC composites filled with raw sludge and its modified products hydrolyzed by laccase and cellulase and hemicellulose could be decreased 26.6%, 25.6%, 21.9% and 9.2% respectively. Adding filler into PVC matrix could endow better thermal stability to PVC composites and enzymatic modification was helpful to promote the thermal stability of sludge-PVC composites in higher temperature range such as equal or more than 340℃. The composites filled with raw sludge and its enzymatic modified products had similar thermal gravimetric variation with calcium carbonate based PVC composite.
