Abstract:The influence of the changes of papermaking system environment on the deposition properties of stickies was ascertained by measuring the area, number and mean area of macro stickies in pulp stock caused by the stickies model material, the cationic charge demand and turbidity of filtrate, and the drainage property of the pulp. Results showed that as the temperature rising, the area, mean area and number of macro stickies in pulp increased, the drainage performance of the pulp was deteriorated, the turbidity of filtrate and cationic charge demand also increased; it was found that both acid and alkaline conditions contributed to the deposition of stickies; the properties of filtrate and filtration performance of the pulp was relatively deteriorated. When different metal ions were added to the pulp containing model compounds, compared with Al3+ and Na+, Mg2+ and Ca2+ had greater impact on the deposition properties of stickies; metal ions had no distinct impact on properties of the filtrate.
