Abstract:The preparation conditions of microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) from reed pulp by using HCl as solvent were studied in this paper. By using orthogonal experiment method, study results showed that the optimal preparation conditions was HCl concentration 6%, hydrolysis time 60 min, temperature was 80℃, liquid ratio 1∶10. The temperature had larger impact on hydrolysis. Degree of polymerization (DP) of the product was 276.0 L/g, crystallinity was 73.2%, yield was 85.4%. The products were proved cellulose I (MCC) by infrared spectroscopy and X-ray spectroscopy characterization.
