| Abstract:This paper systematically reviewed recent advances in modifying paper-based materials using various hydrophobic agents, focusing on the application of typical agents such as fluorides, silanes, stearic acid, waxes, and lignin in constructing superhydrophobic paper-based materials. The mechanisms of various hydrophobic agents in reducing surface energy and constructing micro-nano rough structures were explored, and their advantages and disadvantages in terms of environmental friendliness and cost were compared. By comparison, the bio-based materials like lignin hold greater potential for developing high-performance, environmentally friendly, green, and sustainable superhydrophobic paper-based materials, indicating promising future prospects. |
