| Abstract:This paper conducted non-destructive testing on the pH, chromaticity, thickness, and other parameters of 225 paper-based documents during the revolutionary period housed in the Ningxia Museum, laying a research foundation for their deacidification conservation. The results showed that 70.2% of these paper-based documents during the revolutionary period had undergone acidification (pH value ≤6.5), exhibiting deterioration characteristics such as yellowing and darkening, with some documents featuring water-soluble writing or printing pigments. Based on the above test results, this study proposed a graded and classified conservation approach for the deacidification of these paper-based documents during the revolutionary period. With the aim of providing a scientific reference basis for the preventive and rescue protection of the paper-based documents during the revolutionary period in the collection. |
