| Abstract:This paper used papermaking technology to prepare activated carbon filter cartridges with sterilization function using activated carbon fibers (particles), polyacrylonitrile pulp, and TiO2 particles as raw materials, and conducted performance tests on the filter cartridges. The results showed that the activated carbon filter cartridge produced had high water purification efficiency, good compressive strength, and also had sterilization function. As the amount of pulp increased, the porosity, average pore size, and maximum pore size of the filter element decreased, with a more concentrated pore size distribution. The iodine adsorption value, methylene blue adsorption value, and residual chlorine adsorption value declined accordingly. When the pulp addition reached 30%, the porosity was 91.6%, while the iodine adsorption value, methylene blue adsorption value, and residual chlorine adsorption value were 86.75%, 91.97%, and 92.48%, respectively. The sterilization rate of the filter element remained above 90% under UV lamp irradiation conditions. By testing the effluent quality of the filter element, the test results met the requirements of the national standard GB 5749—2022. |
