Abstract:This review comprehensively summarized recent progress in the development of paper-based electrodes, covering preparation methods, performance characteristics, and applications in supercapacitors and batteries. Emphasis was placed on the mechanisms behind the enhanced electrochemical performance achieved through functional modification of cellulose paper (such as regenerated fiber treatment, polypyrrole compositing) ,and the incorporation of nanomaterials (such as carbon nanotubes and graphene). The application potential of paper-based electrodes in flexible electronics, smart packaging, healthcare, and related fields was also discussed, along with current challenges and future research directions
