| Abstract:This paper systematically presented the preparation methods of lignin nanoparticles (LNPs), including self-assembly, mechanical processing, and interfacial polymerization/crosslinking techniques. It further reviewed recent advances in the development of composite films incorporating LNPs with biopolymer matrices such as polyvinyl alcohol, polylactic acid, chitosan, pectin, and starch. The roles LNPs played in enhancing the mechanical strength, ultraviolet (UV) blocking capability, antioxidant activity, and barrier performance of these composite films were thoroughly discussed. Finally, the paper summarized current challenges associated with the application of LNPs-based composite films in food preservation, UV shielding, and related fields. |
