Abstract:In response to the dual challenges of long-fiber raw material shortages and the transition toward green manufacturing, this paper systematically reviewed a full-utilization pathway for paper mulberry based on component separation. Through a component-based separation route, efficient extraction and recovery of cellulose, pectin, hemicellulose, lignin, flavonoids, and leaf proteins were achieved, thereby reducing chemical consumption and pollution while improving pulp quality. Furthermore, the application scenarios of various paper mulberry components were fully expanded, establishing a green high-value industrial chain encompassing “forestry-feed-paper-materials-medicine”, and facilitating the transition of paper mulberry from a traditional papermaking material into a fully utilized, high-value biomass resource.
