Abstract:This study utilised diacetate fibre bundles as the primary raw material, blended with plant fibres to produce cellulose acetate paper (CAP) for tobacco filter filling. Evaluating CAP’s tensile strength, air permeability, and flexibility as key indicators, Continuous papermaking trials were conducted on a 200 mm test paper machine, with further processing into fine composite filter. Results indicated the optimal process conditions: average fibre bundle length of 2.5~3.5 mm, softwood pulp as the blending pulp type at 30% proportion, refining degree of 55~70 °SR, and addition of 2% ZM24-2 nanocellulose. This configuration increased CAP tensile strength by 278%. Cigarette filtration tests showed that the tar content was reduced by 9.4% compared to pure acetate filter, whilst air permeability and softness met requirements for filter formation on the filter moulding machine.
