Abstract:In this study, Bi2O3/ La2O3/aramid precipitated fiber/carbon fiber composite paper (BLCP) by utilizing aramid precipitated fiber (AF) and carbon fiber (CF) as reinforcement skeletons was prepared. This innovative composite incorporated dual high-atomic-number (Z) functional fillers, Bi2O3 and La2O3, and was produced through a combination of vacuum filtration and phenolic resin impregnation-curing processes. The results revealed a uniform dispersion of Bi2O3 and La2O3 throughout the AF/CF matrix. The internal porous structure of the composite extended the propagation paths of X-ray and increased the frequency of photon collisions, facilitating efficient scattering through both the photoelectric effect and Compton scattering. Moreover, the combination of Bi2O3 and La2O3 demonstrated a synergistic attenuation effect on X-ray, significantly enhancing the shielding performance. Specifically, the BLCP containing 0.5 g each of Bi2O3 and La2O3 fillers exhibited X-ray shielding efficiencies ranging from 69.3% to 85.8% within the 20~70 kV tube voltage range. This material was notable for its lightweight properties (with a thickness of 0.505 mm and a density of 0.37 g/cm3), flexibility (0.22 MJ/m3), and environmental friendliness.
