| Abstract:This study focused on inorganic silicate mineral fibers as the research subject. By comparing the changes in fiber morphology under different beating degrees, it analyzed the impact of beating on paper properties. The results showed that as the beating time increased, the beating degree of the pulp continuously rose. Bundled mineral fibers gradually loosened and separated into individual fibers, accompanied by the formation of noticeable refined flocs, while the fiber wet weight decreased accordingly. After beating for 80 min, the average fiber length was 576 μm, representing a 26.6% reduction compared to that of unbeaten fibers, whereas the average fiber width was 26.3 μm, showing an 11.0% increase over the unbeaten state. The tensile index of the prepared inorganic silicate mineral fiber paper initially rose and then declined, while the tear index gradually decreased as the average fiber length shortened. When the beating time of silicate mineral fibers was 45 min, the beating degree reached 76 °SR, and the wet weight was 10.6 g, the bonding strength of the prepared inorganic mineral fiber paper achieved the optimal level. |
