Abstract:This study employed deep eutectic solvents (DES, choline chloride/oxalic acid) to treat high yield pulp (HYP). Following vacuum filtration, ultrasonication, and hot pressing, high-performance lignocellulosic films (HYP/DES/HP films) were prepared. The effects of hot-pressing conditions on the mechanical strength and hydrophobicity of the HYP/DES/HP films were investigated. The results showed that under optimum hot pressing conditions (140 ℃, 8 MPa, and 9 min), the mechanical strength and water contact angle of the HYP/DES/HP film reached 16.24 MPa and 87.9°, respectively, representing increased of 88.2% and 74.4% compared to the lignocellulosic film without hot pressing.
