Abstract:This paper studied the change of storage period on the chemical composition and content of Masson pine raw material, and further investigated its effects on the yield, viscosity, brightness and reactivity of Masson pine raw material during the pre-hydrolysis, cooking and bleaching processes. With the increase of storage time, the content of NaOH extractive and acid-insoluble lignin of wood chips gradually increased (from 16.16% and 27.33% of fresh wood to 17.33% and 28.53% of 5-month stored wood), while the holocellulose content and α-cellulose content showed decreasing trend (from 73.86% and 33.89% of fresh wood to 71.24% and 32.04% of 5-month stored wood). With the amount of alkali required for kraft pulping after pre-hydrolysis gradually increased, and the yield and viscosity of unbleached pulp gradually decreased. After bleaching treatment (OD0(EP)D1), the whiteness of pulp was increased to above 90%. The degree of polymerization, the content of α-cellulose and reactivity were 609,91.85% and 587.4 s of 5-month stored wood, while the reactivity of 9-month and 12-month stored wood were too low to be detected.
