| Abstract:In this study, methyl methacrylate (MMA) was used as the hard monomer and butyl acrylate (BA) as the soft monomer. The pre-emulsified seed emulsion polymerization method was adopted. The crosslinking agent N-hydroxymethylacrylamide/methacrylic acid (NMA/MAA) was added to the core layer, and styrene (St) was added to the shell layer to prepare the cross-linked modified core-shell styrene-acrylic emulsion. The obtained emulsion was coated onto thin sheet paper to prepare barrier paper.FT-IR spectroscopy confirmed that MMA, BA, St, NMA/MAA all participated in copolymerization. NMA/MAA successfully grafted onto the main chain structure of the emulsion molecule. TEM indicated that the latex particles present a core-shell structure and had a uniform particle size distribution, with a particle size of approximately 111 nm.The barrier paper prepared with PMBS-NA3 emulsion (with St dosage of 20% and crosslinking agent dosage of 0.5%) had good water resistance, Cobb1 800 s water absorption value was 8.6 g /m2, which was approximately 48.5% lower than that of the barrier paper prepared with unmodified emulsion, and had excellent oil resistancd, kit grade reached 10 grade. |
