Abstract:In this study, modified fiber (CRF) was prepared by mechanical treatment of tempo oxidized cellulose with colloidal mill, and a new type of absorbent sanitary material (CRF-PMLA-Ag-SAM) with good antibacterial properties was prepared by polymerization with acrylic acid (AA), poly malic acid (PMLA), and silver nitrate (AgNO3) under UV light. The results showed that CRF, AA, and PMLA were successfully copolymerized, and Ag existed in two valence states of Ag+ and Ag0. At the addition amount of 15% CRF, the CRF-PMLA-Ag-SAM prepared with the addition amount of 1% PMLA and 1% AgNO3 had good absorption retention rate for normal saline, with water absorption rate of 128 g/g and water retention rate of 76 g/g, which had obvious inhibitory effect on Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, and the diameter of inhibition zone was 9.5 and 9.8 mm, respectively.
