Abstract:In recent years, the pollution problem of plastic food packaging has become more and more serious. It is necessary to find environmentally friendly packaging alternatives. Paper-based packaging has attracted much attention because of its excellent environmental protection performance, which will be the future development mainstream in the packaging food field. This paper briefly introduced the classification and characteristics of paper-based packaging, focused on the application status of paper-based packaging in the food field, and summarized its research on new material development and performance improvement. The advantages and challenges of paper-based packaging in food application were discussed. Finally, its development prospects were forecasted.
