Abstract:Black liquor’s main component from pulping is lignin, which is rich in carbon elements and functional groups such as phenolic hydroxyl groups and alcohol hydroxyl groups, but also can be doped into other materials to improve its performance, and has a significant prospect for resource utilization. In this paper, the source, characteristics, and extraction methods of lignin were introduced, the research progress of lignin and its derivatives in the preparation and application of functional materials were discussed in detail, and the existing problems and potential development directions of lignin materials were summarized and prospected, in order to provide a new way for the resource utilization and high-value application of lignin-based derived materials.
