Abstract:This paper introduced the technological process for the comprehensive utilization of waste gas from thermal power generation, applied to the production of precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) in specialty paper manufacturing. Production operation data showed that the project for producing PCC could be classified into two main types of slurry PCC (solid content of 20%) and cake PCC (solid content >50%). The product parameters showed an average particle size of 1.0~2.2 μm and a specific surface area of 7~16 m²/g, suitable for delivery to related papermaking enterprises. The annual energy consumption for the comprehensive utilization of waste gas resources in the papermaking industry was 10 324 000 kWh, equivalent to a consumption of 293.2 tons of standard coal (in equivalent terms), with fixed waste gas containing 54 000 t of carbon dioxide, effectively achieving energy conservation, emission reduction, and the development of a circular economy.
