| Abstract:The use of carbide slag as a substitute for lime in the green liquor causticization process was studied and subsequently carried out in a pilot production trial. Specific solutions were proposed for the problems, such as the unstable proportion of carbide slag, the decrease in the temperature of digested emulsion, the increase in excess lime, and the difficulty in dewatering of white mud that were encountered during the pilot process. With a carbide slag substitution rate of 20% (calculated as effective CaO), the existing production system was not affected. |
