Abstract:A method for the determination of acrylamide in paper utilizing Liquid Chromatography Tandem Multi-stage Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) was established. The impact of extraction conditions on detection outcomes was explored and the migration of acrylamide between paper and paperboard was investigated. In this study, the samples were extracted by water for 30 min using ultrasonic technology, followed by detection using the multi-reaction monitoring (MRM) mode of LC-MS/MS, and quantified by internal standard method. The results showed that ultrasonic treatment significantly enhanced the dissolution rate of acrylamide within paper samples. The method demonstrated remarkable repeatability, with relative standard deviations (RSD) below 5%, and high recovery rates ranging from 93.13% to 99.89% across three levels, indicating that this method exhibited excellent reproducibility and accuracy. Additionally, acrylamide could migrate between contacting paper and paperboard under specific conditions, suggesting that household paper enterprises should pay close attention to this phenomenon.
