Abstract:In this study, Na2CO3-H2O2 process was taken with lab-made Broussonetia papyrifera bark pulp as raw material, the effects of H2O2 dosage, reaction time, and reaction temperature on the bleaching effect of Broussonetia papyrifera bark pulp were investigated, respectively. In order to improve the precision of the optimum process parameters, Na2CO3-H2O2 process was optimized by response surface method. The results showed that the whiteness of the Broussonetia papyrifera bark pulp reached 76.6%, and the polymerization degree decreased from 2 704 of unbleached pulp to 1 886, with the H2O2 dosage of 2.9%, reaction time for 87 min, and reaction temperature at 82 ℃. Comparing to hypochlorite process and NaOH-H2O2 process of Broussonetia papyrifera bark pulp, Na2CO3-H2O2 process had less fiber damage and higher bleaching efficiency. The Broussonetia papyrifera bark pulp prepared by Na2CO3-H2O2 process had some advantages, such as stable whiteness, high physical strength, and better aging resistance, and the paper prepared by bleached pulp had better ink moistening performance.
