| Study on the Use of Aging Treated Paper for Restoration of Ancient Books |

| Abstract:In this study， the UV light， dry heat， damp heat accelerated aging experiment and other conditions were combined to accelerate the aging of bamboo paper， structure paper and other commonly used handmade paper for the restoration of ancient books. The results showed that the aging process would increase the acidity of the paper， and the acidity could be reduced to nearly neutral by soaking in weakly alkaline water. Compared with ancient book of similar color， the preservation state of experimental paper samples might be better， but in some cases， such as ancient book polluted and darkened， the preservation state of experimental paper samples of the same color might be worse. The color stability of aging test paper under light and heat conditions was better than that of traditional dyed paper. |
