Abstract:This study explored the reinforcement effects of bacterial cellulose on fragile paper. The organic system reinforcement solution using bacterial cellulose as reinforcement material and DMSO as solvent, which could effectively improve the mechanical properties of paper samples. When the bacterial cellulose dosage was 10%(relative to paper dry mass), the tensile index was 54.7 N·m/g, increased by 50%, and the folding endurance was 1.57, increased by 76%, with little impact on properties such as thickness, density, color difference value, and whiteness. Paper opacity was 95%, and capillary rise was 2 mm. After 7 days of dry heat aging, the tensile index was 46.0 N·m/g, the folding endurance was 1.38, and its mechanical properties were higher than blank paper. The reinforced paper exhibited good durability, did not experience wrinkles or deformation, and the drying process was simple. |
