Abstract:This study used natural color softwood pulp as raw material, and improved the relevant strength properties of handsheets by adding papermaking additives such as polyamide epichlorohydrin (PAE), alkyl ketene dimer (AKD), cationic starch, and 70 ℃ water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fiber to prepare paper-based strapping tape (PST) with a basis weight of 120 g/m2 at the optimal beating degree (30 °SR), using a buckle free hot melt packaging machine to conduct heat sealing and bonding experiments on the PST. The effects of drying temperatures, dosage of paper additives and 70 ℃ water-soluble PVA fibers on the physical properties, heat sealing temperature, heat sealing time, and heat sealing strength of PST were explored. The results showed that when the drying temperature was 95 ℃, the dosage of wet strength agent PAE was 2%, the dosage of sizing agent AKD was 0.3%, the dosage of cationic starch was 1.2%, the dosage of water-soluble PVA fiber at 70 ℃ was 15%, the heat sealing temperature was 165 ℃, and the heat sealing time was 6 s, the dry tensile index of PST reached 90.3 N·m/g, the wet tensile index reached 26.3 N·m/g, the tear index reached 19.6 mN·m2/g, the rupture index reached 6.45 kPa·m2/g, and the tensile strength at the heat seal was as high as 99.2 N·m/g. |
