Abstract:In this study, different bamboo ages of hemp bamboo pulp were used as raw materials, and the effects of bamboo age on fiber morphology of bamboo pulp, physical properties and filtration properties of bamboo pulp paper were discussed by kraft pulping. The results showed that with the increase of bamboo age, the length, width and aspect ratio of bamboo pulp fibers increased to different degrees. The physical properties of bamboo pulp paper showed different patterns of change with the increase of bamboo age, in which the pine thickness, pore size, and air permeability showed a trend of gradual increase with the increase of bamboo age. When the bamboo age was 36 months, the thickness, average pore size, and permeability bamboo pulp paper were 5.35 cm3/g,29.1 μm, and of 774 mm/s, respectively. And the stiffness of the bamboo pulp paper showed a dedining trend with the increase of bamboo age was a declining trend, the stiffness of the bamboo pulp paper of 6 months reached 289 mN, which was about twice as much as that of 36-month bamboo pulp paper. The filtration performance quality factor of bamboo pulp paper showed an increasing trend with the increase of bamboo age, and the quality factor of bamboo pulp paper was up to 4.96 at the age of 36 months, which was better than that of the flash drying hardwood pulp paper and similar to that of the flash drying softwood pulp paper.
