Abstract:In this study, cationic self-crosscrossling phenyl-acrylic polymer (ASA) was prepared by aqueous solution copolymerization using 2- methacryloxyethyl trimethyl ammonium chloride (DMC), acrylamide (AM), styrene (St), butyl acrylate (BA), and N-hydroxymethyl acrylamide (NMA) as copolymers. The results showed that the dosage of functional monomer were 9.5% DMC, 2% NMA, and the optimal mass ratio of ASA to cationic self-crossbiphenyl propylene polymer was 4.5∶1. The modified ASA scaler had excellent dispersibility and stability. Using cationic starch and bauxite as dual retention agents, the pH value of the slurry was 6.5, the amount of modified ASA emulsion (relative to hardwood pulp) was 0.15%, and the sizing degree of the paper was 92 s. Compared with base paper, the folding resistance, tearing index, tensile index and ring pressure index were increased by 41.2%, 38.3%, 45.6% and 58.7%, respectively. When the dosage of calcium carbonale was 15%~20%, the modified ASA emuslion had a good sizing effect and was suitable for neutral sizing. |
