Abstract:This paper introduced the strengthening mechanism of dry strength agents for papermaking, and systematically elaborated on the research progress and application of different types of dry strength agents for papermaking. Among them, the research status of starch, chitosan, water-soluble plant gum, cellulose and its derivatives, polyacrylamide, and other chemically synthesized dry strength agents in the field of wet end papermaking were emphasized, and their future development was prospected.
