Abstract:In this paper, the retention results of retention systems such as cationic polyamide epichlorohydrin resin (PAE), PAE/anionic polyacrylamide (APAM), PAE/bentonite (MMT), PAE/cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM), PAE/CPAM/APAM, and PAE/CPAM/MMT on retention rate of titanium dioxide/talc composite filler in preparing decorative base paper were studied, and the optimal dosage of each system was determined. The results showed that when the dosage of PAE, CPAM, and MMT were 2.0%, 0.08%, and 0.6% respectively, ternary retention system of PAE/CPAM/MMT had the best retention results, the retention rates of pulp and filler were 89.5% and 65.0%, respectively, and the opacity, whiteness, and formation of the paper were 98.5%, 86.6%, and 91, respectively.
