Abstract:In response to the problem of low content of activated carbon in commercial avaliable activated carbon filter paper, this study started from raw materials and preparation pocessing to explore the effects of the plant fiber fibrillation and the polyester fiber on the content of activated carbon and physical properties of activated carbon filter paper. A binary retention system with special addition sequence was also constructed to assist the retention of activated carbon powder. Finally, a high-strength activated carbon filter paper with activated carbon content of 46.2% was obtained, of which the CTC value was 34.0%. Taking the indoor air purification as the target scene, this study innovatively designed “corrugating honeycomb” structure for the activated carbon filter paper. The materials with the structure showed good removal effects for five types of gases, among which the removal effects of acetic acid, toluene and formaldehyde were 100%, 100%, and 65.2%, respectively.
