Abstract:In this study, the effects of paper basis weight and montmorillonite content on the physical performances and dielectric properties of polyimide fiber paper-based materials were investigated by monofactor analysis method. The results showed that there was no significant difference in the appearance of polyimide fiber paper-based materials with different paper basis weight. When the paper basis weight was 80 g/m2, the polyimide fiber paper-based materials had the optimal physical performances, with the tensile index and tear index reaching 15.0 N·m/g and 19.7 mN·m2/g, respectively. When the dosage of montmorillonite was 6%, the volume resistivity of montmorillonite/polyimide fiber paper-based material achieved the highest value, reaching 2.59×1015 Ω·m. When the dosage of montmorillonite reached 8%, the montmorillonite/polyimide fiber paper-based material possessed the best insulation performance, the puncture intensity with working frequency reached 17.34 kV/mm, and the relative permittivity and dielectric loss reached 4.99 and 0.23, respectively, at the frequency of 50 Hz.
