Abstract:Taking the xuan paper, newspaper and edging paper commonly used in paper documents as the research object, the changing trends of the degradation performance to pH value, tensile strength and fiber structure were measured by changing the conditions of temperature and humidity in acid environment. The results showed that the properties of paper decayed obviously with pH value of 6.10 and the duration time of 192 h or more. With the increase of temperature and relative humidity, the pH value of the paper changed from alkaline to acidic, the tensile strength was significantly reduced, the fiber was rougher and shorter.
