Study on the Application of Laccase to Weaken the Woodiness of Cigarette Paper

Abstract:In order to weaken the woodiness of cigarette paper, the physicochemical indices data of five grades of pulp boards were analyzed, and three kinds of low-lignin pulp boards were screened out. Effects of enzyme-treated pulp sheet on physical parameters of cigarette paper, mainstream smoke composition and sensory characteristics of slim cigarette samples. The results showed that the three pulp boards of Beimu brand wood pulp board, Parrot brand wood pulp board and French hemp pulp board had low Kappa value and low lignin content, and the woodiness of thin cigarette samples which were made from them was weak. With the increase of beating time and the dosage of laccase, the beating degrees of the three low-lignin pulp boards were increased, and the Kappa values were decreased. When the beating time was 120 min, the beating degrees of the three types of pulp boards reached the highest, and the Kappa value reached the lowest and the consumption of 2 kg of laccase per ton of paper was the optimum dosage. After adding laccase in the beating section, the tensile strength, elongation, and tensile energy absorption of cigarette paper were increased by 9.78%, 3.12%, and 2.33%, respectively, and the performance of cigarette paper was obviously improved. The cigarette paper samples were tested on the fine cigarette purple gas donglai (Fen Qingxiang), in the tobacco and cigarette accessories under the same condition, the release amount decreased by 16.63%, the aroma of thin cigarette samples increased, the irritation and woodiness decreased, and the sensory quality was improved.
