Abstract:With the development of China’s economy and the improvement of people consumption level， demand for specialty paper has been increasing. However， the shortage of raw materials in the specialty paper industry has seriously affected its stable and healthy development. Based on the mode of “forest-pulp-paper integration”， utilization of abundant non-wood fiber raw materials according to the stategy based on local conditions， and development of virgin pulp， are expected to achieve independent control of the raw materials and products of the specialty paper. In this paper， the characteristics of different plant fibers， pulping methods and suitable kinds of specialty paper had been summarized in order to guide the selection of raw materials for specialty paper.
