| Abstract:Wastewater and sludge samples were collected from two pulp and papermaking enterprises to explore the path of adsorbable organic halides (AOX) removal during wastewater treatment process and its microscopic occurrence in sludge. The results showed that the terminal AOX concentration of pulp and paper wastewater was lower than 1.0 mg/L. AOX was mainly removed through biochemical treatment, and the residual sludge played an important role in AOX migration. Sludge adsorbed 21.1%~24.8% of total AOX from influent, and the adsorbed AOX concentrated in the sludge cell phase and extracellular polymeric substance (EPS). |
